Microsoft

All content on Halo Vets is created and managed in compliance with Microsoft’s Game Content Usage Rules, using assets from Halo: Combat Evolved, Halo 2, Halo 3, Halo 3: ODST, Halo Reach, Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary, Halo 4, Halo 2 Anniversary, Halo 5: Guardians and Halo Infinite. Halo Vets is not endorsed by Microsoft and does not reflect the views or opinions of Microsoft or anyone officially involved in the production or management of any Microsoft product. As such, Halo Vets does not contribute to the official narrative of any Microsoft product thereof.

Tournaments

Rules

All tournaments held on Halo: The Master Chief Collection or Halo Infinite are cross-platform and support keyboard & mouse, gamepad or both.

All tournaments held on Halo 5: Guardians are only available on Xbox and only support gamepad input.

Every tournament has Event Organizers. Event Organizers can participate in the events they organize.

Each tournament has a predefined game and game-type which is used for each match throughout the tournament.

Halo: Combat Evolved
Slayer (FFA)

  • Score to Win: 25
  • Time Limit: 12 Minutes
  • Respawn Time: 5 Seconds
  • Weapon Set: Classic Weapons
  • Starting Weapon: Assault Rifle
  • Secondary Weapon: Pistol

All other rules remain unchanged from the built-in game variant (Slayer).

Halo: Combat Evolved
Team Slayer (2v2)

  • Score to Win: 25
  • Time Limit: 12 Minutes
  • Respawn Time: 5 Seconds
  • Suicide Penalty: 5 Seconds
  • Weapon Set: Classic Weapons
  • Starting Weapon: Assault Rifle
  • Secondary Weapon: Pistol
  • Objective Indicator: None
  • Betrayal Booting: Disabled
  • Team Changing: Pre-game Only

All other rules remain unchanged from the built-in game variant (Team Slayer).

Team Slayer (4v4)

  • Score to Win: 50
  • Time Limit: 12 Minutes
  • Respawn Time: 5 Seconds
  • Suicide Penalty: 5 Seconds

  • Secondary Weapon: Pistol
  • Objective Indicator: None

Tournament Entry

Depending on the game, each tournament will have a different set of requirements that you must meet in order to enter.

Halo: The Master Chief Collection
Requirements

  1. You must enter your Xbox gamertag and Discord username on your profile before you enter any Halo Vets tournament held on Halo: The Master Chief Collection.
  2. You must join the Halo Vets Discord server before you enter any Halo Vets tournament held on Halo: The Master Chief Collection..
  3. You must be able to stream Halo: The Master Chief Collection on Discord.
  4. You must be in the “Tournament Lobby” channel of the Halo Vets Discord server at the start of the tournament (you wont see this channel until you have been vetted and confirmed to be in the tournament).
  5. You must accept any game invite(s) sent to you by the Event Organizer(s) during the tournament.
  6. You must follow any instructions given to you by the Event Organizer(s) at all times.

Any entrants who don’t meet the requirements will not be included in the tournament.

Vetting Process & Confirmation

All entrants are vetted by an Event Organizer before they are confirmed to be in a tournament. The vetting process is carried out via Xbox Game Bar so you need an Xbox account before entering any Halo Vets tournament.

Invites

All game invites are sent by an Event Organizer via Xbox Game Bar (this is particularly important for Steam users).

Monitoring

Every tournament is monitored from start to finish to maintain the overall health of the tournament. Games are monitored differently depending on the game.

Halo: The Master Chief Collection

Games are monitored on Discord so you need a Discord account in order to take part in any Halo Vets tournament held on Halo: The Master Chief Collection. Event Organizers monitor each game live as you stream it to Discord. Only Event Organizers can view the participants streams.

Results

Winners are decided by the game results. The top 50% progress through to the next round until a winner is crowned.

Cheating

Any participants that cheat will be instantly disqualified and their ability to enter future tournaments will be revoked.

Disqualification

Participants that break the rules, don’t follow instructions given to them by the Event Organizer(s), or are threatening or abusive will be disqualified from the tournament and their ability to enter future tournaments will be revoked.

Sponsorships

All sponsorships go towards upcoming tournaments. All our sponsors are glorified on the tournament listing/highlights page(s) they sponsor. Every sponsorship helps us improve the overall production and quality of future tournaments. Every sponsorship allows us to increase the prize money and prestige of our tournaments.
